Opening statements will be Wednesday
LEBANON - Now that a jury has been seated in the Ryan Widmer case, jurors will be transported to see the Widmer home - which they saw only in photos in the first trial last year - and then will hear lawyers' opening statements Wednesday.
"I was surprised that they had enough," said Mark Krumbein, a Cincinnati criminal defense lawyer for 27 years who has closely followed the Widmer case.
Many potential jurors were eliminated because they had formed opinions about the case based on widespread publicity, because of work or family obligations, or for other reasons that went undisclosed.
